BRIGT
A downloadable Brigt for Windows
Brigt is an 'action sidescroller/point-and-click' set on a train travelling between a fantasy city and a sci-fi one. the main characters are a girl, Dorotea, and her spirit, a sphere of energy controlled by the player.
The project was born for this year's cursed contest on rpg2s, the italian rpg maker forum. But unfortunately I couldn't deliver it in time. I lost a lot of time on the technical aspect of the project and ended up with a somewhat buggy tech demo that I didn't feel I could deliver.
However, I will continue to work on the project, as I really enjoyed creating this strange game mechanic.
As soon as I finish integrating the tutorial I will release the tech demo and update the topic with characters and other news.
STORY
"In the world where I was born, Shakoron, the Sun God, illuminates the
great Desert. On the opposite horizon, Path, the Moon Goddess, covers the great Ocean with endless night. The light they radiate makes the lands of Bright lifeful, alive and bright!"
"In the village where I was born, the Spirit of each of us is free to float in the air,
outside our bodies, but always at our side thanks to the Ohne Seele, 'the house of the spirit',
the medallion that unites us into a single entity.
The Ohne Seele were used to illuminate the lands of Moonshine, bathed in eternal night. But after the arrival of the humans,
they became our only weapons."

Years have passed since the arrival of humans in the land of night. Its wonderful landscapes have become a popular tourist destination by the human nobility, who have come from the distant Sunshine Lands thanks to the Oneground, the train connecting the two kingdoms.
Dorotea works on the train as a conductor. Like all inhabitants of Moonshine, she has bright white hair. Her job is to keep safe the human passengers of the Oneground, protecting them from the cursed spirits that are created as a side effect of the humans technology. The transition from the realm of day to the realm of night causes human spirits to become corrupted and turn into demons. The Oneground's automatic security system, however, is extremely effective. It has rarely happened that an Oneground customer has been transformed. Until now, at least.
Something strange is happening on the train and Dorotea will have to protect a human child, moving from carriage to carriage, allowing the player to learn about the protagonist's terrible past, understand the link that binds her to the spirit and discover what brought them to the Oneground.
GAMEPLAY
The player will have control over Dorotea's spirit. Just as in a point-and-click game, you will have to interact with the cursor, which will also be the spirit at the same time. Describing the combact system in words alone is difficult, so I leave you here with a short video showing its evolution so far.
---
Explained in brief: During a fight you will have to deal with corrupted spirits, which gather in swarms and chase the player. Clicking C stops time and gives you the opportunity to make 2 or more straight movements in the air, with the aim of hitting as many corrupted spirits as possible, thus charging the blue bar of the special ability. By re-entering Dorotea's body with a full blue bar, you have the chance to use a special move to defeat the enemy. If corrupted spirits hit the cursor, HP points will be reduced.
I plan to create other enemy types as well, but for now I have had time to make one.
